Frequently Asked Questions for "Bar Poker"
How is this legal?
Our poker tournaments are free for players to play in, with no consideration for play. Players do not wager anything of value. Push Poker provides the first place prize, (Host venues are to award there own gift cards to the runners up with no cash value).
Players never wager nor play for anything of monetary value. Points are tracked over the course of the session, which is typically 14 weeks. Arrive 25min early to sign In for 2400 bonus chip. Each has a winner and places 1-32 earn points based on the POINT SCALE Our point system is called the Venue Support Program and establishes the Venue Support Points award structure used for qualifying for the three annual Big Tournaments, each session runs 14 weeks with a big tournament played on the 16th week. Play as often as you want and wherever there is a bar.
What Services Does Push Poker League Provide:
We organize, operate and promote your venue through holding Free No Limit Texas Holdem Poker Tournaments at your restaurant or bar. Our goal is to bring in large numbers of hungry and thirsty patrons to your venue to compete in the poker league tournament. We are the premier poker league in Indiana and our league structure is designed to draw maximum players to YOUR bar, and keep them coming back week after week.
How long does the tournament(s)t take?
The main tournament itself will last around 3- 4 hours (sometimes longer depending on the attendance). The official registration will begin an hour prior to start time. Expect patrons in your establishment for an average of 3 hours even though some will bust out early we also offer a second chance 'fun' tournament that lets players stick around longer and play more poker in our mini tournaments and they also extra earn points here. These games are going on continuously, with no waiting. If players have to wait around on a second timed tournament they are likely to leave.
Is my bar / restaurant a good fit for poker?
Most likely, yes. The physical space needed is at least a minimum size to fit one of the 10 person poker tables, which are around 7.5 feet long and 3 feet wide. Most venues will want to have a minimum of three tables for our poker table tops. If you have more space, we can fill it up. One note on space, booths do not work. It is hard for players to get in and out of their seats and they are only three sided. If you are unsure if your space will be appropriate, one of our reps will be glad to help analyze your situation.
How do the prizes work?
We provide excellent League Prizes that you can advertise to your players. Push Poker will always award the first place prize at all daily events. Once per 16 weeks we have a session ending championship big tournament. In 2009 we plan to provide one lucky player a seat to the main event in the WSOP qualifier at the Horseshoe casino in southern Indiana or northern Indiana.
How does "Poker Night" work? What exactly happens?
An hour before tournament start time, one of our TD's (tournament directors) will arrive on site to set up for the poker tournament. We will get the tables set up and handle the rest. You need tables and chairs, we place our poker tabletops on top of your tables and players use your existing chairs. Make sure you have enough wait staff available early, as players will arrive hungry and thirsty! Our TD handles it all from start to finish, you concentrate on running your restaurant / bar / pub and we will concentrate on making sure the players who come to play in the tournament have a great time and will come back again and again and again.
How can I help promote the poker events and make sure they are a success?
Advertise! Make sure everyone who walks in your place has plenty of opportunity to know that they are invited to come back on poker night to play in the poker tournament! It is also very important that your staff knows all the details about the poker tournaments. New players enjoy themselves in a fun social setting. Post our pre-made Flyers in the high traffic areas in your restaurant / bar. You can download this word document and edit in your venue details.
We also encourage you to talk to your beer vendors to co-brand a series of banners and flyers advertising the poker tournament and their beer brand, typically they will cover the entire cost of the banner for you as it encourages people to drink their brand.
Consider offering food specials and drink specials and incentives to poker players. Perhaps coupons for a discount or a free side item if they come to eat on days other than poker nights.
